She is the second most winning woman player in the all time winning trail, right after kathy liebert, with a remarkable $1.6 million in career tournament earnings. But this is not why she earned my great appreciation. The thing about Annie Duke is her unique playing style. She is relaxed and communicative. If you watch her playing with other big shots in the field, you might be surprised that she manages to win at all. While most of the other poker players in the table tend to keep their eyes on the table, ware sun dark glasses or hide below a concealing hat, Annie Duke is completely open, uncovered, smiling, talking, joking around and keeping the atmosphere easy going and again, relaxed. As far as it goes for this writer, this is the way to play poker. Below you can watch her latest poker after dark game.

The heads-up play will continue until one player has won all the chips on the table.

The World Heads-Up Poker Championship is held every year since 2001 across Europe. This successful tournament, launched on NBC in the United States, the National Heads-Up Poker Championship competition, which only invited players, can participate.

The goal is to win in six games in order to become the champion. The first round is to be distributed by all of the players against each other. There are four groups, which are : spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs. Winners of the semifinal between the groups formed compete against each other till there are only two left. The two finalists are competing to be the champion, who has two wins in the duel against another player.

NBC first Heads Up Champion of 2010 is Annie Duke. Annie Duke won the competition and took home a half-million-dollar prize while setting a new poker record for being the first woman poker heads-up competition winner.

There’s no doubt that playing professional real money poker can earn you a lot of money if you know what you’re doing.

Sophon Sek, winner of last year’s British Columbia Poker Championship, is accused for taking part in the murder of 6 people on October 2007 as part of what some might refer to as Gang wars in British Columbia.

Sophon was arrested before even having the chance to collect his winning money. For now the money – $364,364, is being held for him by the RCMP.

We are waiting to hear news from the trial that has started on the end of November and is still in progress.

One of the victim’s mother has said in an interview that it’s about time “faith will be coming back to bite”. She express her grieve and anger about having to watch sophen going on with his life as if nothing happened, participating in poker tournaments and remaining cool enough to even win the game while the victims’ families are left to grieve and swallow their sorrow in silence.

Ironically enough, the bail for his release, 2 days ago, was $370.000, which is just about of all his winning money.

For example, many online poker rooms offer free poker schools with tutorials and free games which you can practice with. One of my personal favorite is the online 888 Poker school. 888 Pacific Poker has been around for quite a while now and they defiantly know their way when it comes to poker. Now, other than learning the game you need to know about free tools that are offered for bettering your odds – for example there are free poker calculators to use online or to download to your computer. Also, youtube is full with poker videos of tutorials or recorded tournaments games. Watching these videos is a great way to pick up some good poker tips and to learn from the great players out there.

Read poker blogs, there are plenty out there so it’s hard to distinguish between the good and the bad ones, but once you find some good ones you can benefit from other poker players’ experience.
Participate in Poker forums. Forums provide a great platform for asking questions and sharing information.
There are probably many more free tools out there but these pretty much summarizes the main ones.

Real money poker can be a great way of making fast money or a great way to lose a lot of money. Remember that at all stages you should never play with more money than you can afford to lose and never bet on a hand you are not sure about.

This ‘Poker odds calculating’ table below is not a professional one. For that we recommend you use an auto calculator, at least for the beginning. But this table can give you a general idea for which hands are relatively with good winning odds and which should make you fold.

How To read this Table:
B – Bad

L – Low chances

G – Good odds
